Charge Cycle Monitoring
Posted on May 01, 2008
Entel has introduced Charge Cycle Monitoring in its radios, which provides a dual advantage for the end users and the resellers.
The end user will never use an expired battery in critical situations, and, the reseller can have assurance that they will be contacted for repeat business and not their competitors.
How it works
Entel radios are equipped with an intelligent battery which communicates with the radio each time the radio is switched on. If the battery is approaching the end of its life, an audible warning is emitted.
Additionally, radios with LCDs inform the users how many charge cycles the battery has gone through (fig. 1), and how many cycles remain.
When the battery charge count has been exceeded, the radio emits a different audible warning, and LCD radios display the reseller's contact information (fig. 2).
The battery charge cycle monitoring feature is available on all of Entel's new 2.0 series radios.
