Entel ATEX radios rise to offshore Vietnamese oil challenge
Entel's HT983 UHF and HT944 VHF intrinsically safe radios have fought off stiff competition to become the radios of choice, for a major new opportunity to exploit oil and gas off the coast of Vietnam. The contract to supply was won by Entel dealer, OSB Investment and Technology JSC, who will also be providing Entel's heavy duty CHP950HD ear-defending headsets, designed to complement the radios. Over the past 30 years, Petro Vietnam has been a major player in the country's off-shore oil industry.

Total E&P Indonesia selects Entel ATEX MPT1327
E&P’s head office in Jakarta has purchased Entel’s trunking HT886T ATEX full keypad model for its oil and gas operations in Indonesia. The client, supplied by Team Simoco UK, needed an I.S. radio product that was compatible with TeamSimoco MPT1327 infrastructure, but also required a durable radio that offered submersibility. Before investing, officials from Total – the world’s fifth largest producer of oil and gas – conducted their own trials of the the Entel HT886T alongside equivalent I.S. portables offered by Tait and Motorola.

Syrian Gas Company opts for HT926 with DTMF
The Syrian Gas Company (SGC), has opted to purchase the Entel HT900 Series 2.0 ATEX hand portables, beating off stiff competition from other leading brands. In the end, though, only two manufacturers, Entel and Motorola, were able to offer the build quality and specifications demanded by this prestigious company. Up against a more established brand, the Entels won through on being fully submersible and their durable, quality feel.

Largest Czech Oil Company Invests in Entel HT926
The Czech Republic’s largest oil company, Unipetrol, has become the latest petrochemical company to invest in Entel’s ATEX radios, opting for the HT926 VHF full keypad selcall model for its three main refineries. The radios were supplied via VH–Com, Entel’s authorised dealership based in Prague. The Entels were chosen in preference to Motorola because of their unique IP68 submersibility rating and in recognition of their build quality, designed to give many years of reliable, problem–free, two–way communications. In addition to the radios, Unipetrol also invested in bone conductive audio accessories, including throat microphones and skull microphones.
