Mactan Cebu International Airport
Entel has been selected to supply Mactan Cebu International airport in the Philippines with its prestigious HT723 radios. The airport is managed by GMCAC, a consortium between one of the Philippines' leading construction firms, Megawide Corporation and India's GMR Group, a world renowned infrastructure developer with an excellent track record of transforming airports into exciting, efficient award winning airports in India and overseas. The consortium has been formed to manage and develop the Mactan Cebu airport for the next 25 years, under the Philippine government's Public Private Partnership program.
The HT723 radio handsets boast a commercial grade construction - exceeding MIL STD 810C/D/E/F rating for tough enduring performance and are designed to withstand shock, vibration, dust and moisture, ensuring many years of trouble free use in the most hostile environments.
According to local Entel dealer, Hello Marketing, who undertook a site demonstration using the VHF model, the customer was won over by the superior build quality, giving the unit a durable, robust feel as well as an outstanding performance. The customer further commented on the crisp audio compared to the competitor models they had previously been using and the added advantage of the IP68 submersibility rating - the highest of any two-way portable radio and means that all of the HT Series handsets are uniquely able to withstand total immersion in water to a depth of 5 metres for 1 hour. The customer felt this feature was a significant advantage for the external use of the handsets during the frequent torrential rainstorms during monsoon season and for the successful 24/7 operation of Mactan Cebu International airport.
