Keeping safe in Cancun with Entel handheld radios
The Fire and Civil Protection Department in Mexico's premier tourist destination, Cancun, has embraced Entel's submersible HT700 series radios as the ideal solution to coordinating beach safety and off-shore rescue. The resort sees more than 3 million visitors each year, meaning that reliable communications lie at the heart of keeping tourists safe. Unfortunately, the department's old splash-proof IP55 rated radios were simply not up to the job, getting damaged and corroded during operations at sea.
According to local Entel dealer, Guillermo Blanco Chávez: “The Municipality of Benito Juarez Cancun in Mexico was using IP55 standard radios and had a consistent problem of replacing units which would get damaged during rescue operations at sea.".
But with its IP68 submersibility rating, the robust Entel HT700 series radio quickly proved itself: "During trials, the radio was often submerged while rescuing the victim but the team was able to communicate without problems and complete their mission successfully”, Chávez continued.
All of which goes to prove that for every application, there's an Entel radio solution to suit.
