HBOS banking on the Entel HX480
The Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) is the latest financial institution to rely on Entel’s HX400 series of radios for its security operations. The bank took its first delivery of HX480s via one of Entel’s authorised dealerships, Pennine Telecom, in July 2005, and was so pleased with their performance that it continues to expand its fleet of Entel radios via the same dealer.
As with many other security and shop-watch personnel, the radios were an instant hit, being easy to use, while offering the added benefit of Lithium–Ion battery technology which means shifts lasting up to 12 hours can be covered with a single charge. It was the radios’ reliability and superior battery life that persuaded HBOS to switch from the radios they used previously to the HX480s, which they also find cost effective.
Mark Winterburn, Security Co-ordinator for HBOS told Entel: “We found the radios were the perfect size, and not too heavy,” adding, “The clarity and volume was better in all areas of operation, and the range was far superior - even in the heart of the City of London. We will certainly be recommending the HX480s in future when radio systems are required.”
