Oil giant chooses Entel product to tackle sub-zero environment

Gazprom Neft is a vertically integrated oil company, giving it control over its many supply chains and subsidiaries. It is primarily engaged in the exploration and development of oil and gas fields, oil refining, and the production and sale of petroleum products. Gazprom Neft products are exported to more than 50 countries and sold throughout Russia and abroad through an extensive network of directly-owned retail outlets.
Gazprom Neft was originally using a combination of HT Series and Motorola GP Series intrinsically safe radios to communicate across their sites. With their analogue radios being several years old, Gazpromneft decided to migrate to the superior DMR technology, with key benefits of better audio and battery life to enable greater levels of efficiency and performance.
They evaluated a number of models, eventually shortlisting the Motorola DP4400 Series and Entel DT500 Series. Gazprom Neft is one of the Russian oil industry’s leading companies in terms of efficiency, so it comes as no surprise that they chose the Entel DT582, because they knew the superior IP68 rating would withstand Russia’s harsh climate conditions. The other significant factor was the competitive price-point of Entel’s spare battery packs that gave Gazpromneft significant cost savings year on year, says Sergey Pugachev, CEO of VIAGLOBE INNOVATIONS Company - a long-standing, trusted Entel partner.
In excess of 400 of the DT582 EX ib IIA T4 radios will be used by oil tank terminals, petrol stations, and fuel transportation services all over Russia.
